Post P_rn Arts Fest opening

The politics of the body / the politics of visibility

The personal is political. Transforming the personal into the public and making it the centre of non-hierarchical micropolitics based on performative artistic practices is one axis through which a postpornographic dialogue can be created. A dialogue that is an interaction with ourselves and with the bodies of others – the scale, after all, depends only on our own vision of how political subjects can be shaped and the extent to which their actions will be visible.

We invite you to the performative opening of the Post P_rn Arts Fest in a place that is significant, a little symbolic and a little bourgeois: the MSN headquarters on Pańska Street, disappearing in a clash between the past and what is yet to come.

Felina performance: „Sexuality throughout life”

Felina is a queer academic, dancer, and psychotherapist from Amsterdam, who loves off-the-norm forms of burlesque, tango and porn. In this performance, she explores the little-known psychological meaning of menopause, and breaks down stereotypes about female aging and sexuality. Her performance brings us a fresh perspective on sexuality throughout life.

Lola Pistola “2.000 kcal”

2,000 calories will confront the body in a dantesque and post-pornographic combat. Body and calories, energies of the same compound, will dissociate, fight, fuck and melt together in the dance of meanings that culture has implanted in them.

Lola Pistola: Multidisciplinar prosex bitch. Guardian of trash and failure. My attempt is to postporn my experience of life, generate uncomfortable discourses and create transformation spaces within community as a (self)care strategy. In times of hate, censorship and techno-capitalist emptiness I vindicate love and humor as the ultimate tools.

Anna Kalwajtys „Kamikaze dance”

The performance in the form of an ‘erotic exorcism’ alludes to micro and macro acts of violence in the space between the individual and the political body. At the same time, this ‘para-political’ maladjusted affect, a personal confession, a war dance, is a symbolic micro gesture of going beyond the scopic regime, of rejecting the model of surveillance and exclusion from view. This performative gesture is a desire to go beyond conditioned perceptions, individual and systemic oppression.

Anna Kalwajtys visual artist, performer.
In 2005 she graduated in sculpture from the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk and in 2007 in intermedia from the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznan. In 2006 she studied at the Faculty of Animation and New Media at the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb 2015 she received her PhD in Fine Arts for her work BBL Bios-Laboratorium of the Body. In 2020 she completed postgraduate studies in psychology at the University of Warsaw. Her performances address issues of corporeality and biologicality, the process of building cultural identity, the exclusion of weaker individuals from society, borderline existential situations. The works she creates are often read in the perspective of feminist criticism, critical art tradition and post-humanism.

Wojciech Puś „Endless VR Segue”

A queer poem about gender transformations, hallucinogenic desires, and uncanny relationships. It’s past dawn, in an apartment inhabited by several figures. They are frozen in time, frozen in the movements they were making. They look at each other, caress each other, sleep, masturbate with VR helmets on their faces. In one magical moment, they come to life and start a languidly intoxicating party. In Wojciech Pus’ essayistic 360° film, we follow several people of different genders and ethnic identities as they navigate a path through night, life, desire, and futility. Fragments of their stories are only fleetingly revealed in poetic speeches that resemble a verbal symphony rather than a narrative. The director builds the experience on hallucinogenic light work and uncomfortable camera movements. Will this party ever end, or have we found ourselves trapped with the characters in a labyrinth of existence that has no end?

Wojciech Puś, b. 1978 – filmmaker and artist. They work with moving images and sound. Their films/installations/live acts have been screened/exhibited/shown at Warsaw’s Museum of Modern Art, Haus der Kulturen der Welt in Berlin, ICA in London, Museé du Louvre in Paris, Foksal Gallery in Warsaw, Art Museum in Lodz, Urban Glass in New York, A:D: Curatorial in Berlin, Spike Art Magazine / Yvonne Lambert in Berlin and Exchange Gallery in Lodz.  DJ Collective Luz Maryja: Pan Tolzdorf / ELI / Venuzmilos / Ms Juliet

Mr. Tolzdorf
The apparent chaos in his sets is the perfect recipe for filling the dance floors of not only the capital’s clubs. He is heavily inspired by the vibe of the 70s and the late 80s and early 90s. Mixes pure house with dirty Detroit-derived techno and sweetens with classics and psychedelic hits of the disco era. Once a resident of the now iconic Blok Bar. Co-organizer of initiatives related to the LGBT community.

ELI
She made her debut in 2001 and has since played in most of the country’s leading clubs, festivals and abroad. In 2002, she and her girlfriends form a popular DJ trio, Lezbend. Together they organize Hot Chili and Lez Dance events. In 2003 Lezbend signs a three-year contract with an American booking agency, which results in a tour of the US .
Since 2006 she was the artistic manager of Club 55 in Warsaw. Currently Eli plays solo or in the collective “Luz Mary”. His day job is photography.

Venuzmilos
A foam figure interested in the poetics of the queer body in motion, operating at the intersections of the performing arts, visual arts and, since last year, music in they DJ explorations. They powers its sets with energetic rhythms with just the right dose of sassy chants until your asses shake.

Ms. Juliet
Vocalist and performer. Julia believes that her artistic identity is closely related to her “human” identity, which is why she treats her actions as an ongoing process of experimentation that allows her to redefine herself and come closer to her total discovery, breaking out of the roles imposed on us by our surroundings. Last year, she joined the Luz Mary collective, where she pursues her fascination with electronic music, which she layers through spacey mixes, while her sets are broken up by deep house and soft techno tracks with verbal messages that allow her to sink even deeper into the set.

Lick II: equal in adoration

The performance is a symbolic representation of the queer fight against patriarchal oppression and domination. We want to deconstruct traditional gender and power roles. Discover a common path to mutual understanding and balance, challenging social norms and showing strength in diversity. The action is intended to be an expression of queer identity and resistance to patriarchal structures. Through its symbolism and actions, we invite viewers to reflect on the concepts of power, equality and personal identity. Of course, remembering that tongue connects and heals.

Anna Solecka (born 2002)
I experiment with sound, broadly understood writing, performative activities, photography and short films, and I am constantly searching for and trying new techniques. I am the curator of my playlists, photo tattoos on the wall and, hopefully, in the future, my own artistic space. In my works I care a lot about certain and consistent aesthetic, either of destruction and discomfort or cuteness and pink, overwhelmed by symbolism. I carry with me 3 cameras, 2 notebooks, and I record samples at everyday walks, so I can be always prepared. I consider myself an artist not in terms of making art, but living art, however narcissistic that may sound. Insta artist and a #sadgirl.

Deep Moon. Pluto | Kuba Falk

This is a performance about the body entangled with technology; about vulnerable male sexuality, voyeurism, openness, and transformation through exposure and subordination, previously shown at:
Grace Exhibition Space, New York City, USA (premiere)
WeHo Pride Arts, West Hollywood Library, Los Angeles, USA
LGBT Community Center, The Bureau of General Services Queer Devision, New York, USA
Dfbrl8r Gallery, site/LESS, Chicago, USA
“The title of the performance came to me spontaneously  when I was thinking about the relation between the inside / the outside and the light side and the dark side of the moon. Back then I was working on my research about the lunar cycle, exploring mythical references and the lunar symbolism in its relation to the matriarchal cult of the Great Mother. I wanted to connect this material with the actual astrological events, especially with the return of Pluto to the Aquarius sign above all. The influence of Pluto is strongly connected with the subjects of power, loss, control, sexuality, and our deep inner psychology. Pluto is never satisfied with superficial answers, and it comes beyond the matter of things. It triggers rough transformations coming from the inside to the outside. In the dark registers of unconscious forms the new consciousness. As the pearl extracted from the shell, it is an essence of the transformation that works for the spiritual metamorphosis. What is hidden, covered demands confrontation”
(From Kuba Falk’s text Deep Moon, Pluto)

Resistance, Body, Sound and Vibrations| Lars* Kollros & Milena Nowak

The performance Resistance, Body, Sounds and Vibrations explores the meaning of human touch, sexuality and explicitly also the meaning of consent and communication in connection with touch, physical contact and sexuality. It is about the idea of a queer post- humanist world in which bodies become cyborgs and merge with the technological world and and gender loses its meaning. Three people in semi-transparent suits are connected to a computer system via electrodes and by touching at least two people, a noise sound can be generated under certain conditions. However, the sounds can only be generated if the resistance of the suit to the body can be bridged through non-verbal communication and energy can flow between the two bodies.
Abstract images are projected onto the performers with two projectors, partly geometric shapes, partly abstract sexual images.
Another level of the performance is based on sex toys, which can also be controlled by these touches and create an additional soundscape through their movement. Sexual tension is translated into electrical tension, which can then be translated back into sexual stimulation.
The performers can decide for themselves which areas of the body they want to make electrically conductive with a special spray and thus allow performative touching there.
Conductive bondage ropes open up yet another level of performative, sex-positive communication, in which power structures are made audiovisually recognizable and questioned.
